Class 1 Driver (HGV C+E)

Location: Goole, East Yorkshire

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

Shifts: Any 5 from 7 – Night Shift

Pay: £14.50 – £18.31 per hour (including allowances)

About the Role

Our client, a major UK logistics and transport provider working across retail and consumer supply chains, is looking for experienced Class 1 Drivers to join their Goole-based team on a permanent basis.

Operating from a large distribution site in Goole, the role includes a mix of store deliveries, RDC work, warehouse collections and general trunking. Drivers will operate a modern fleet and support network-wide transport operations as needed.

Shift Pattern

• Any 5 from 7 – Night Shift
• (Additional shift variations may be available on request.)

Pay Rates

• Mon–Fri Days: £14.50 per hour
• Mon–Fri Nights: £15.80 per hour
• Saturday & Sunday Days: £17.50 per hour
• Saturday & Sunday Nights: £18.00 per hour
• Bank Holidays: £18.31 per hour

(These rates include meal allowances and tier payments.)

Key Responsibilities

• Complete store deliveries, RDC runs, warehouse work and trunking assignments
• Operate Class 1 vehicles safely and professionally
• Carry out drop-and-swaps and required manual handling when needed
• Ensure loads are secured and transported in line with safety standards
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects
• Work within Driver Hours, Working Time Directive and site compliance rules
• Maintain a professional attitude with colleagues and customer teams

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Valid C+E (Class 1) licence
• Valid CPC card and Tachograph card
• No more than 6 points on licence (no DD/DR endorsements)
• Good working knowledge of Driver Hours & WTD regulations
• Ability to complete vehicle safety checks to a high standard
• Strong communication skills and reliable work ethic
