Quality Assurance Manager

Location: Runcorn, Cheshire

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

Work Pattern: On-site with 1 day per week optional remote working

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: £50,000-£65,000 + excellent benefits package

About the Role

Our client, a leading aerospace engineering and manufacturing organisation with a state-of-the-art facility in Runcorn, is seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Manager to oversee compliance, quality management, and product safety across its operations.

The site is a fully integrated aerospace engineering and surface treatment facility supporting major global programmes. With a strong reputation for precision engineering, advanced manufacturing and lean processes, the organisation continues to expand and innovate within the sector.

Reporting to the Quality Director, the Quality Assurance Manager will ensure full regulatory, customer and internal compliance, drive continuous improvement, and provide expert guidance across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Conduct internal audits in line with the annual audit schedule covering product, process and systems.
  • Maintain and update audit findings, Quality KPIs and trend reporting.
  • Support the development, communication and implementation of the annual audit schedule.
  • Review and update quality processes, ensuring alignment with regulatory and customer expectations.
  • Lead independent investigations, including Human Factors and other root-cause investigations using RCCA/8D methodology.
  • Monitor occurrence reporting, perform risk assessments and communicate outcomes effectively.
  • Promote quality-driven initiatives across the organisation.

Quality System Expertise

  • Provide advice, education and tools to operational and functional departments relating to quality system requirements.
  • Maintain and control quality systems, including digital quality platforms and documentation.
  • Manage certification stamps, authorisations and privileges in line with regulatory standards.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to operational teams on regulatory and customer compliance.

Qualifications & Essential Skills

Essential

  • Experience working both independently and collaboratively under time and resource constraints.
  • Competent using MS Office, including producing spreadsheets, reports and quality documentation.
  • Strong working knowledge of:
  • EASA Part 145
  • FAA Part 145
  • AS9100 / AS9110 quality standards
  • Strong organisational, communication and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Confident presenter with the ability to explain compliance requirements clearly and credibly.
  • Demonstrates proactivity, logical problem solving and a structured approach to investigations.

Desirable

  • Aerospace sector experience.
  • Qualified auditor certification.
  • Knowledge of EASA Part 21 Subpart G and J.
