The Opportunity

We are supporting a leading organisation working on complex, high-impact programmes. They are seeking a Supply Chain Manager to take ownership of supplier strategy, performance and delivery across key projects.
You will play a central role in ensuring a resilient, efficient and commercially effective supply chain, supporting programme success from initial sourcing through to delivery.
This role suits someone who thrives in structured, fast-paced environments and is comfortable managing complexity, stakeholders and risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a robust supplier network aligned to programme requirements
- Identify, assess and onboard new suppliers, maintaining an approved supplier list
- Lead tendering activities to ensure quality, cost-effective and timely delivery
- Evaluate supplier proposals and negotiate contracts and pricing agreements
- Capture and translate programme requirements into supply chain activity
- Monitor supplier performance, managing risk, issues and escalation points
- Lead, mentor and support a supply chain / procurement team
- Ensure all supply chain activity aligns with governance, compliance and commercial frameworks
- Drive continuous improvement across processes, systems and supplier engagement
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Experience in supplier relationship management and subcontract negotiation
- Strong understanding of procurement processes and contract management
- Experience supporting or leading proposal development and evaluation
- Commercial awareness and understanding of contract fundamentals
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
Desirable
- CIPS qualification (or working towards)
- Understanding of export/import controls (e.g. ITAR)
- Experience working in regulated or security-sensitive environments
Security Requirements
Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain UK Security Clearance (SC).
