The Opportunity
Pivt is supporting a leading organisation within the UK defence and national security sector to appoint a Project Support Officer into a growing Programme Management Office (PMO).
This is a career-building opportunity for someone looking to develop within project management, working across a range of complex, high-impact programmes.
You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth coordination, structure, and governance of projects, working closely with Project Managers and senior PMO leadership to support delivery across both internal and customer-facing initiatives.
This role is ideally suited to someone who is highly organised, detail-oriented, and looking to build long-term capability within a structured, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and coordination support across the full project lifecycle
- Maintain and update project documentation, including schedules, plans, cost data, and reporting packs
- Support the production of project reports, dashboards, and performance updates
- Coordinate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder sessions, ensuring effective planning and delivery
- Prepare agendas, capture actions, and ensure follow-up activities are tracked and completed
- Support risk and issue management processes, ensuring accurate tracking and communication
- Maintain project systems and records, ensuring data accuracy and consistency
- Assist with financial tracking, including invoice processing and budget monitoring
- Work closely with Project Managers to ensure governance and delivery standards are maintained
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in an administrative, coordination, or PMO support role, ideally within a project environment
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, with exposure to project tools (e.g. Primavera P6, COBRA) advantageous
- Ability to manage, organise, and maintain structured data and documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Working towards (or interest in) a project management qualification such as APM
