Salary: £32,000 – £36,000

Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 15:30

The Opportunity

An established organisation operating within the media and broadcast sector is seeking a reliable and experienced Fleet Vehicle Shunter to support its busy transport and fleet operation based in Chalgrove, Oxfordshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified HGV1 / LGV C+E driver looking for consistent weekday hours, a predictable working routine, and overtime opportunities within a supportive and professional environment.

The role is ideally suited to drivers who take pride in safe vehicle handling, attention to detail, and working as part of a close-knit operational team.

The Role

As a Fleet Vehicle Shunter, you will be responsible for manoeuvring HGV vehicles around the company’s maintenance facility and transporting fleet vehicles between operational sites across the South East when required.

Alongside vehicle movements, you will also support the wider fleet operation with day-to-day maintenance and yard duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manoeuvring HGV vehicles safely within company premises
  • Transporting fleet vehicles between operational and maintenance sites
  • Completing vehicle safety and compliance checks
  • Refuelling vehicles using on-site fuelling facilities
  • Coupling and uncoupling trailers
  • Reporting defects and carrying out minor maintenance tasks such as bulb changes
  • Supporting yard organisation and cleanliness
  • Communicating effectively with fleet and operations teams
  • Operating a Forklift Truck where trained and authorised

Requirements

  • Valid HGV1 / LGV C+E licence
  • Full CPC qualification
  • Digital Tachograph Card
  • Proven experience as a commercial driver, ideally within shunting or fleet operations
  • Strong vehicle manoeuvring skills, particularly within confined spaces
  • Clean and professional approach to driving and vehicle care
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to safety
