Location: North East England & Scotland

Salary: Up to £46,752 + £663 Monthly Vehicle Allowance + Bonus (Up to 50%)

The Opportunity

An internationally recognised manufacturer within the interior solutions and furniture components sector is seeking an Area Sales Manager to join its growing commercial team covering North East England and Scotland.

This is a field-based sales role focused on developing both existing customer relationships and new business opportunities across the KBB, furniture manufacturing, and decorative board sectors. The successful candidate will promote a premium range of interior products and work closely with manufacturers, distributors, fabricators, and end users.

The position would suit a commercially driven sales professional with experience within decorative surfaces, furniture components, edgebanding, interior products, or associated machinery solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop an existing customer portfolio across the region
  • Identify and win new business opportunities within target markets
  • Promote a premium portfolio of interior solutions products
  • Develop relationships with furniture manufacturers, distributors, fabricators, and KBB businesses
  • Conduct regular customer visits, product demonstrations, and commercial reviews
  • Build strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders
  • Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable product solutions
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline activity, and forecasting data
  • Monitor competitor activity and market developments within the sector
  • Deliver against regional sales targets and growth objectives
  • Work collaboratively with internal technical, marketing, and commercial teams
  • Represent the business professionally at customer meetings, exhibitions, and industry events

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience within a field sales or area sales role
  • Background within interior solutions, decorative boards, furniture components, KBB products, surfaces, laminates, edgebanding, or related sectors
  • Strong relationship-building and customer-facing skills
  • Comfortable managing both existing accounts and new business development activity
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a field-based role
  • Commercially aware with strong negotiation and presentation skills
  • Organised and disciplined approach to territory management and follow-up activity
  • Experience using CRM systems to manage pipelines and customer activity
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel across the region regularly

Desirable Experience

  • Experience selling premium products into manufacturers or distributors
  • Knowledge of decorative melamine boards or edgebanding products
  • Existing network within the KBB or furniture manufacturing sectors
  • Experience selling associated machinery or technical interior products
  • Understanding of manufacturing or distribution environments
